The New Jersey Office of the Public Defender – Burlington Trial Region is seeking designated Pool Counsel to represent conflict cases in Burlington County Superior Court – Criminal Division. The candidate should have demonstrated experience and interest in school law, public entity law, and/or labor and employment law. The candidate should have civil litigation and/or special education litigation experience. Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required. The position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of transactional and litigation matters in the areas of labor and employment, special education, Section 504, student discipline, student records, Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, School Ethics Act, student residency, civil rights, tenure, negotiations, Open Public Records Act, and Open Public Meetings Act. While hybrid work is available, the candidate must be willing to attend occasional in-person evening meetings.
